To cover the cost for providing our high-quality publishing service and free access to readers, authors pay a one-time article processing charge (APC) for manuscripts accepted after peer-review. There are no charges for rejected articles, no submission charges, and no surcharges based on the length of an article, figures or supplementary data. Editorial items (Editorials, Corrections, Additions, Retractions, Letters, Comments, etc.) are published free of charge.

The Article Processing Charges are 160 USD (or the equivalent amount in local currency) for each accepted manuscript.

- Manuscripts whose authors are members of our Editorial Board are entitled to apply for a 30% waiver of APC.
- Manuscripts whose authors are affiliated primarily with institutions located in low-income countries (according to World Bank classification) are entitled to apply for a 50% waiver of APC.

At the time of submission of manuscripts, IJMS does not request Article Submission Charges, also called Submission Fees.
